I believe that the Condo Assn. has to file its by-laws with the court to operate as they do. You should see if you can get a copy of those by-laws at the courthouse, then you'd know if what they're doing is legal.

I was on the board of the Homeowners Assn. for the subdivision I lived in in Greenville County. I had a copy of the Assn. by-laws and I know they were on file with the county. I also found out that if there were any changes to the Convenants and Restrictions (that each homeowner had to get a copy of at closing from their attorneys) that we had to file changes with the county for them to be enforceable.

Its worth a shot.
