If you don't need a car in your own name -DO NOT burden yourself with the cost, upkeep and INSURANCE.
Get yourself put as authorized user on one of the credit cards your parents pay for.
Take a look and see what is ON your credit report NOW.
Don't be in such a hurry to get into debt, even if it is "paid off" each month.
It is a good idea to open an account with a good local bank and keep your $$ safe. Start with a small line of credit WITH that bank with overdraft protection an ATM card, (KEEP IT SAFE)
The main thing young people need to watch for these days is id theft, make sure you do NOT "loan" your card or drivers license or anything else like that out-even to your closest friend.
