The understand the SOL for reporting is 7 years from the first 30 days late on an account. On trans union and experian, I do not see this date. Most of my bad credit is from late 1996 (divorce) to about sept 1997 (filed bankrupcy {dismissed}). The opened and closed dates are inacurately reported as 2000 and 2001. Is there a way to have this changed so that my report is accurate, and these items fall off sooner?
Also, if a cc is required to charge off an acct (as read in an archived July post) if that is/was not done, can this also be updated on the credit report so that the SOL for reporting ends at the correct time?
Is it possible to have a dismissed bankruptcy from 9/97 to be removed from the credit report?
I am trying to clear up some of this with the letters I have found on why chats web site, and have had 2 of 8 items deleted from trans union, and no response from experian.
Thank you for any help you can give.
