Hi,my son was at the mall in San Diego,Ca.He was approached by a person offering a free cd.What they were selling was a so-called membership to Photo World. They conned him into signing up saying he would receive free film and other benefits. Two months later (APRIL 2002)he gets a bill from Castle Credit Corp. for $1783.00.He called to cancel so-called membership and they said he could not.He has been disputing with the BBB.In July Castle Credit changed this bill to ABC Finance, he disputed ,tried to cancel. He has not paid them anything ,so in the same month that ABC Finance got this bill they(ABC Finance) put it on his credit report as a charge off $1600.00.Castle Credit is also on his report stating $1783.00 cannot locate individual.I thought that if the bill is in dispute they cannot put it on his credit report. They have ruined his credit ,he is only 19.I just found out that CA. Consumer laws state that on solicited sales the seller has to verbally tell the buyer that he can cancel within 3 business days and give a Notice of Cancelation Form.If they did not do that(they did not) the buyer can cancel at any time.Any advice, does this look like a good lawsuit?
