We have copies of our credit reports from Experian and Equifax. Still waiting on the one from Trans Union. What bothers me is that there are a lot of inconsistencies and wrong entries. It looks like Asset Acceptance Corp. (the ones suing us) put in new information to try to reage our accounts. We have older copies of our reports that show different dates of last activity with our original creditor. They older report also shows that we were six months deliquent on the accounts before the date of last activity.

The last time we were sued we lost. We couldn't afford a lawyer so tried to do it ourselves. We told the judge we that the SOL had expired. She said the paper they faxed in showing when they bought the account was the only proof they needed and that was when the time started.

There is no court date yet on this one. We were served the papers from the sheriff's office today and we have 20 days to file an answer to the court. My husband and I feel that we're going to have to get the money for an attorney. We were in the right the last time and still lost. The person who sued us garnished my husband wages. I am very stressed that this could happen again. We are already getting help with food stamps and medical and really are just scraping by. We would have paid these bills if we could have. We just couldn't. It seems like this one screw up is going to haunt us the rest of our lives. Thanks so much for your advice so far. I really appreciate it.
