Long story ! Need to vent!. I've had a very sick 2 year old. Several surgeries and emergency room visits. Good insurance, but every time we go to ER, it's 50.00. This was just from January- May and now Children's Hospital has sent it to a Collection Agency. I've paid $25 a month since June without fail. I received a notice yesterday saying if it's not paid in full by 9/18, it will be reported to collection agency. Stated call to make satisfactory payment arrangements. I did. I stil owe 75.00 which is a lot to a single mother living week to week. The guy said no way. We will not make payment arrangements. People can be so stupid. All you have to do is pay 75.00 and you're home free. But instead you're going to let it affect you for 7 years?! I don't have the money to pay or I would. He said it is definitely going on credit report. But it can go marked "paid collection" if I pay now. I told him if it was going to CRA anyway, I cancel all payment arrangements previously paid. Told him I'd rather pay the other creditors who are willing to work with me. Did I do the right thing? Any advise? Should I pay $25 a month and hope he was lying about sending it to CRA?
