The letter to the CA's is OK for getting rid of THEM, however to get the fraudulent accounts off your records you need to do several things.
1- Immediately put a fraud alert on your and your husbands reports.
2- Report, using the "fraudulent entry" letter to CRA's on my website to all credit bureaus.
3- File a report with the FTC and your State Consumer Affairs ID theft reporting hotline.
4- When sending the letters to the CA's and the CRA's -do step #3 FIRST so you can include the file #'s of your reports,and reference them in your letters.
5- Doublecheck your reports, not only for unknown entries, but for unknown inquiries and addresses or misspellings of your names.
