Debts 'go away' ?? They NEVER just 'go away'. You are lucky in some ways to live in TX, they can't garnish your wages, but they can still sue you and there are other ways for them to collect on a judgment in TX that are just as ugly, if not worse. Judgments last a LONG time in TX, so they will have years to grab your bank accounts, security deposits, tax refunds, or any other money you might come into.

IF you're lucky enough to stay below the radar until the SOL runs out on the debts (4 years), then you can no longer be sued for the debt. Many CC companies are getting very aggressive about lawsuits, so you may not get that lucky.
