MBNA is a royal pain to deal with but they do have hardship programs that you may qualify for at this point. Most creditors have such programs and you should find out the particulars and see if you can get on them. You won't be able to negotiate removal after payment with an OC, they won't deal that way, but you may be able to as for a 'paid as agreed' status.
