How to get it "taken off"

Many thanks to those that have responded to my inquiries this morning. I am needing to get my credit score up six points. I am willing to pay my charge offs, but many on here suggested that I need to have them "taken off" the credit report. How do I do that? I have asked to of the creditors to provide me with a letter that says they will take the charge off off the report. However, both acted like that was the silliest thing they have ever heard. They noted that it is impossible, as they do not have the power to take it off. Here is my question: Who on here has had a charge-off "taken off" a report? What steps (specifically) to you do to get this done. Thanks
