hi! you have been helpful to my last inquiry and something come up again :( below is the link of my original msg dated Nov 5.... i rec a letter from tsys total debt management, inc GA according to the letter the Chrysler Financial has "employed them concerning the need to clear past due account balance" First of all, my husband's daughter filed a bancruptcy and this debt is going on 7 yrs January 2003, and it should be taken off then. my question is how should we respond on the CA's letter? is CEASE and DESIST letter applicable? CA's letter includes, "unless you notify this office within 30 days from receiving this notice that you dispute the validity of the debt or any portion thereof, this office will: obtain verification of the debt or obtain a copy of a judgement and mail you a copy of such judgement or verification..." when i talked to Chrysler Financial i asked them to send me the paper works of this debt and i was told they dont have them anymore since this debt has been too long.. so i wonder if the CA can really obtain a copy of the judgement and verification and send it to us? i wrote this on the bottom of the letter the CA sent to us, "i request you cease and desist in your efforts to collet on the above referenced account. it is my personal policy not to deal wtih collection agencies and i will only deal with the original creditor of this account. you are hereby instructed to cease collection efforts immedietly or face legal sanctions under applicable federal and state law..." what else can i do in reply to this CA's letter? pls help. thank you very much.
