I had a similiar problem involving OSI collections and AAFES. First to let you know, OSI did loose their contract to collect on AAFES accounts. According to the website. I was medically retired after 5 years of service in 1994, and didn't have the money to pay. According to research that I did on this. AAFES keeps hard copy records for 2 years after last purchase then for an additional 4 years on computer drive, Then finally deletes it. When OSI tried their stuff. I asked for written documents proving that this is mine. They gave me a print out that didn't prove anything. When they realized that I wasn't going to pay they threatened garnishment claiming it is a federal debt, etc. What OSI didn't figure was that I knew that they reaged my account on my credit report, further I tape recorded some of the threats they made to me on the phone. When I volunteered all this information to them along with my intent to sue; I never heard from them again. It has been a while (2 years) since I did the research so double check the dates that I listed above. Good Luck to you
