Sorry I'm not very good at legal stuff and terms, but I think your right, it was renewing the judgement. Right now with us both on unemployment we have nothing left after we pay our bills, buy food and I take care of my two young boys. (From my ex)
He can't even afford to file bankruptcy so that's pretty much out too. Right now we're just trying to survive and he just found out a month ago he's diabetic and our food budget has changed due to his diet restrictions. He did take all the bills he pays to the meeting and showed them what he has comming in and what's going out. He also pays child support for his two youngest daughters.
The CA also lied to him on the phone, they said they called his ex wife and she told them she was filing bankruptcy, when he went to the hearing he found out they didn't have her phone # or her address so how could they have contacted her he asked. The lady (CA) said they must have talked to the wrong person and they would now try and contact his ex. So if he can't pay payments that they expect, and he can't afford to file bankruptcy, what are we looking at? Garnishment when he finds work? Bad news on his already lousy credit? With his child support garnishment, they will be lucky to get anything from him unless he finds a job making more than his last one.
Thanks LadynRed, your answers gave me a little insite and also shows me what little I know about legal stuff :)
