Back in 97 I had a bank account that was overdrawn by a couple of dollars. By the time they got done hitting me with all of their fees it was up to -$200! Anyway after fighting with them over the fees, I was frustraited and admit, never resovled the account. I also never heard anything more from them and the bank has since bought out by another. Recently I started recieving calls from a bill collector reguarding this account. This debt is not on any of my credit reports and my not even be on ChexSystems anymore. Isn't there some sort of SOL on this sort of thing or are old bank accounts different? I know that my credit is excellent. I've since had two mortgages, bought cars, etc... What benefit would it be to me to pay off this old debt? Since the bank doesn't exsist, I can't fight it out with them anymore. If I did pay it off, where would the money be going?
