Unfortunately, many people who think "validation" is a magic bullet are sadly disappointed.

There is NO requirement for validation in order for a creditor to file a lawsuit to collect on a debt.

The validation requirements in the FDCPA have to do with collection activities and reporting activities,NOT LEGAL ACTIONS, legal actions by themselves, unaccompanied by collection activities are NOT prohibited, which is why a lawyer who has filed sut after someone has requested validation will not respond to letters or calls regarding settlement.

The ONLY way a "validation"could possibly stop legal action is if it is a DISPUTED DEBT. Simply requiring proof, without disputing the debt is, in my opinion useless.
