Citibank has been really helpful with us. I called them when we were headed for financial trouble and they referred me to a credit management company (Ameridebt) who lowered the payments and interest.
We pay $288 a month on over $10,000 on the Citibank card, so my guess is yours would be half that. We were on Ameridebt for a year and got our feet on the ground and are now paying off the debts (we should be debt free by Jan. 2004!) Anyway, Citibank was the first creditor to report favorably on our credit after four months, and they took all the 30 and 60 days late notations off our credit report without even being asked! It is worth trying to work with them.
