Did you receive anything prior to the sale of the repo? There are alot of factors involved, and I have a hard time believing it was just sold in January! You need documentation of the repo, a full accounting of the resale, and proof that it was done in accordance with state law. I bet they don't have any of those things and you need proof of all of that before they can collect a deficiency balance, but you surely can request validation, if you want to.
