If you are able to pay it off, in full, I suggest you go to creditnet.com and search the first 3 posts for instructions on dealing with cap1 directly. Presuming they have assigned, not sold the account to NCO, you MAY be able to negotiate something favorable with them.

I do NOT suggest posting on that board for now, as some of the advice being given is rather strange.

It is POSSIBLE, that NCO might be able to get a letter from Cap1 that would agree to give a more favorable rating than you now have.

If however, the account has been SOLD to NCO,you would need to search the credtnet resources for how to deal with that issue.

The creditnet board is more involved with credit repair and credit scoring than this board is.

I generally do not deal much with that subject.
