Many times CA's and their hack-attorneys play the numbers game. They file suit hoping for a no-show defendant to give them a default judgement.
If on the other hand the defendant answers the suit by replying "Lacking in Knowledge" to each phony, greedy, libelous accusation, well, then these slugs have to actually work, as opposed to steal via the court system.

This pertains not to small claims - big scam - court, but to civil court. When the sludgepile CA lawyer finds resistance, he pulls back and moves along to next target of opportunity. This is Lenin 101 philosophy. Study the communists and their tactics. Why? Because communism is essentially a criminal gang posing as public servants and lawyers, just like the greaseball bankers, credit card companies, and collection agents. Compare their actions, look for patterns, there are striking similarities.
When you smash them back, they withdraw. When they find a no-show defendant, or worse, a frightened, ill debtor who surrenders in small claims court due to ignorance of his rights and fear of judicial process, they take not only the debt, but compel him to sign all his protections away.
As with all predatory types, eventually they collapse from their own bloated weight. Smash them.
Always gently,

Keyser Soze
