Go to my website, click on Florida, scroll to the bottom, click on Licensed Collection Agents,scroll down until you find "Collection Agents", look to see if whomever is writing to you is licensed and registered in Fl. as a collection agency.

In Fl. as in many other States, a CA who is NOT licensed in the State is ONLY allowed to write or phone you, they are NOT allowed to file ANY kind of legal collection action against you.

If they are NOT registered and/or licensed in Fl., file a complaint on line with the FTC and the Fl. Dept. of Agriculture Consumer Affairs. They are in violation of the FDCPA and Fl. Consumer pritection laws by threatening ANY kind of legal action.
