You can't sue them because they haven't violated the law in a way that can be proven in court.. yet. They, however, cannot sue either. It's past the SOL. Keep a tape recorder handy. Wait for them to call. Read the FDCPA: http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm Understand it. Understand it WELL. Listen to the tapes and see if anything meshes. Save all mail communication. Hell if you don't feel like dealing with any of it, send them a Cease and Desist now. If you want to add insult to injury, add a nice little line that states her representation to you that they may place any information regarding this time-barred debt on your credit report, is appreciated. It's been added to the evidence file you've started on them. :) Be SURE you're past the SOL before you do that.
