There you go again, trying to scare people with threats of criminality !! MOST 'bad checks' are nothing more than an innocent MISTAKE. In order to make it criminal there must be CRIMINAL INTENT. An error in calculating your checkbook is NOT criminal INTENT, so, at worst, people may face CIVIL penalties only, and almost every state classifies checks under a certain amount as CIVIL misdemeanors at worst. The guy who bounces a $6.40 check at Burger King doesn't need jail.. he needs a new calculator !!!
