Bad Check Question

I was reported to the prosecuting attorney's office by
the local grocery store for writing a bad check ($20.00)
a year ago, but I was never brought to court over it.
All I did was pay it off (it came to close to 200
dollars, (claiming the amount was for the adminstrative
fees and bad check fee) and they left me alone. Would
this affect my credit? if so, how can I take care of it.
