Yah good old NCC. they are full of crap. How old is this check. First of all it is a violation to threaten criminal charges. Only the OC who owned the debt can file against you. Second of all I sincerely doubt they gave you the mini miranda nor did they tell you that you have 30 days to dispute. Thirdly they cannot add that many charges to the bill. they are violating the law once again. First file with the bbb and the ftc. Next call the new jersey attorney general whose site I will post below and file a complaint. They are already under investigation. What state are you in? I know about a half dozen attorneys who are suing NCC right now. If you get them on the phone denying you the ability to dispute and telling you about jail then you can turn around and sue them. A year ago this company lost a 300k lawsuit and they have not paid it. Play with them. Tell them you will pay the debt when they pay the 300,000 they owe.
