You MAY still be able to negotiate with FUSA, but don't be surprised if they refuse to deal with it and send you to the collection agency. If you're going to offer a settlement, they may be more amenable post-charge-off. I'd try sending them your settlement offer, certified of course, and see what happens. Add in it that in exchange for payment you want the listing update to at LEAST 'paid'. If they refuse your settlement, wait a couple of months and try again. The longer it goes unpaid, the more willing they are to take a settlement.
