They sent us a letter. Basically trying to settle without going to arbitration. It is my husband's account. I work FT. He is PT and home w/ our kids. We were on CCCS and then off of it b/c the payments were not aligned w/our income (aligned w/ our previous 2 FT income salary). So they got tired of waiting for us to get things realigned and sent us to collections with W&A. They are telling us we have to pay lump sum (which we cannot) or pay in payments and they can only handle us for 6-8 mos tops. We cannot make those payments (over $800/mo) and every time I call I never get the contact there and it is a circus. All of our other creditors are working with us in smaller chunks until things calm down. But not MBNA. We live in MD. I am wondering if this kind of forces us to file Ch. 7 on all unsecured debt since we cannot afford this bill and they are not able to work with the little that we have? What should we expect and what should we do? Any advice? We wanted to sign up for CCCS again and pay on this debt since it is ours but this puts us in a tough spot and we have no money sitting around to pay this off. Thanks. Email me if you'd rather not post. Julie
