Ch 7 dismissed - help, please!

Hi, all -- this is a very helpful forum - thanks! We had our Ch 7 petition (filed in NY) dismissed after several months. We'd filed before we left the US (dh is on contract work in Australia for 18 months), and hoped to have it cleared up before we left, but all the timeslines involved didn't let that happen. Our attorney said he'd had people do it via phone long distance, but also said there was a new district trustee who may not allow it. And that's what eventually transpired. Anyhow, excuses aside, the petition was finally dismissed after 5 months. What do we expect at this point? Are our creditors going to harass us here? Or will they call our last known address or phone numbers? Our mail was re-directed to my MIL, who forwards it to us... will they bother her? She's very concerned about being harassed. Anyway, any advice or experiences will be greatly appreciated. By the way, we intend to re-file when we return to the US, but it now looks as if that may be closer to 3 years away... what do the creditors do in the meantime? Kind regards,
