Oh, so the brave big heroic and bold 'collections professionals' who uphold the 'highest standards of the industry' had your wife in tears, did they? Well, the first thing you do is report her distress to your physician. Have this documented in medical records. Causing this type of upset is against Federal Trade Commission regs and documenting this gives you good ammo for future battles with these gutless bloated blood ticks.
JBC has been a lively topic of late on this board. Scroll through the posting s of the last couple of weeks, you'll find the psycho cases at this fine and venereal old firm have been making lots of friends amongst our readers.
They break any rule they can think of in their effort to get money by any means. This apparently has impressed several attorneys, one of which in California is filing a class action against these low class smashed pumpkins. That was reported just a few postings down the page.
You are in Florida? The statute has come and gone on this alleged debt at least once and JBC jolly well knows that. They are presumed to be knowledgeable by authorities and thus can offer no credible excuses when taken to task for their wretched bullying behavior.
Which is standard actually. Just as a thug brandishes a gun in order to gain control over a hold up victim, these punks use the telephone to convey credible realistic threats in order to cause emotional distress to the person on the other end, in this instance your wife.
The reason for this is simple. Put someone into emotional turmoil, frighten them, and you diminish to some extent their rational side, their intellectual defenses which would otherwise direct them to deny the absurd illegal demands of the collection agency dog droppings.
It's simple, not gentle, and it is proven effective. You have gained control over the thugs now by writing this board, asking questions and gathering facts. You are on the road to bashing the spittle encrusted dentures of these gutless nutrias with every legal tool you can wield, and this board will provide you with many.
Given that JBC has been noisily befouling its cage, flinging its excresences far and wide to the dismay of so many, this is a good time in particular to write a nice letter to the FTC detailing all that they have stated and how this has caused such severe distress to your wife and family.
Make sure the NJ AG has a copy of this complaint, file with them as well. In Florida, it's the Division of Banking, Consumer Protection Division.
File with the Better Business Bureau. Even if they can't take proactive measures against these gleet globs, the initials of JBC will be in their files, available for inspection by the public, along with your fine commentary on their most interesting procedures.
Your predicament is one which makes this all worthwhle. You are not alone in being literally terrorized by these spineless cowards who would never on a dare conduct themselves face to face as they do over the phone. Plenty vicious when protected by miles of 600 ohm balanced pair phone wire and fiber optic cable, watch these wastrels twitch and cry when confronted in person.
A dear personal friend, family physician and beloved pest control specialist, H. Lecter, M.D. did a bit of research during his stay at Florence, Italy's famed Caponi Library. Delving into the leather bound dusty volumes from days of antiquity, he learned and it can be credibly reported that JBC is shorthand for Jackanapes, Bullies, and Cowards. Indeed, they live up to their name each day by increasing degree as reported on this board.
Stay in touch, we are all in this together. Smash these poxy, chancroid, weeping pancreatic lesions masquerading as 'collections professionals' with every resource available to you. They are bullies. They betray good faith negotiation, laugh at pleas for mercy, expectorate in the face of respect. Brute force retaliation by every legal avenue will get the attention of these heedless boors.
Threatening women, making wives cry. It's enough to make one regurgitate all over one's gold rolex. But for 'collections professionals'? No big doings, all in a day's work.
That's why they have earned our undying burning enmity. Remember that, trolls. Take it to bed with you. Perhaps it will serve as a good diuretic while you sleep. Better get the plastic sheets out of grandma's closet, trolls.

Sleepily,

Keyser Soze
