Oh Lord, the 8,000 POUND GORILLA of credit card issuers !! The BIGGEST so-called 'contributer' (pardon me while I CHOKE on that word)to Senator's and Congressmen's campaigns and grease-spreader in the US. Their 'political contributions' (gee, can you say BRIBES!!!!) and its huge weight in the industry is being used to twist the arms of politicians to push THE MOST HORRIFIC bankrupcty reform bill !!! This 'reform' would put lots of very unfortunate and already down-trodden people in to bankruptcy SLAVERY .. all because MBNA was butt-stupid enough to indiscriminately extend credit to anyone and everyone in the 80's and 90's - including people's PETS. People who would never have otherwise been qualified for credit were literally HANDED credit cards with ridiculous limits.. now MBNA whining and crying becuase people are defaulting and bankruptcies are at record highs. MBNA who makes millions of dollars on usurous interest rates and late fees that are jacked up for extremely questionably reasons all to line their corporate coffers !!

I had two MBNA accounts -- and when I was laid off and unemployed for 6 months last year, YOUR company is one of the ones who REFUSED to work with me when I DID call to tell them of my problem. It was one or two of YOUR COWORKERS who screamed and threatened and suggested that I move back home to my mother's house (she's 84 & lives in an ASSISTED LIVING COMMUNITY !!) so I could pay a freaking credit card bill. They were utterly relentless with harrassing phone calls, as many as 20 a DAY (its been documented !!!) and the reps were NASTY.

Perhaps you are a decent individual, but your company is NOT and neither are all of your coworkers !!! Yes, I'm bitter and totall anti-MBNA. I will NEVER, EVER, for the rest of my life, accept or apply for anything financed by MBNA again, and I steer as many friends and relatives AWAY from MBNA as I possibly can and I will continue to do so. Its the old - I warn 2 friends, and each of them warns 2 of their friends, etc,. etc. - if you think ONE person cannot make an impact - think again. The impact is exponential - my personal boycott will remain!
