Some states have their own versions of the FDCPA which are MORE restrictive and include original creditors in the scope of consumer protections. CA is one of these states, there are a few others.

If you haven't notified the OC in WRITING that they may not call you at work, you'll get nowhere. The other lies they tell, like the threatened repo, you'll just have to ignore unless your state laws can help you.
