I had the same thing almost happen to me. What I did was use the google search engine to look up the fair credit billing act and the dentist ethics board. I then called the dentist office and got their fax number and sent a letter over stating all the facts and how I did not appreciate their lack of ethics nor the fact that they ruined my credit. I then called a couple of days later and they apologized and removed it from the CA. IT may not work but if you start nice and remain firm in your belief and DO YOUR HOMEWORK you can beat them at their own scummy game. I made it clear the CA was abusing my rights and since I was making them aware of the fdcpa violations they were now responsible for all future violations the CA may incur on their behalf.
