Lawsuit is no reason to get credit report

Jody,

If they get your credit report it is to get information they are NOT entitled to. The reason they want the information is to find out how badly you need money. They can be tougher if they know that you are in a bad financial position.

That, I repeat, is NOT something they are entitled to just because you filed a lawsuit.

Talk to your attorney about what claims you are making for damages to see if there is any possible reason (which I do not believe there is) for them to see your credit history.

Lastly, make sure that YOU get copies of your credit report and keep checking to see if anyone that you don't recognize has requested a copy. If they do get it (and I do personally know of a case where the defendant ran the plaintiff's credit report for exactly the reason stated above) you may have ANOTHER lawsuit against them!
