I am dealing with some pretty heavy credit
card debt that I have turned over to a debt
consolation agency. I have one more year and
should be debt free, I hope. But, I am also
dealing with a law office who is collecting a
debt that was sold from a credit card company
to a financial company. The office is quite
large and I understand that other companies
have retained them to collect debts as well.
Now, because I have requested that they send
me something in writing that indicates that
they have debited my bank account every
month, and because the guy on the other end
and I had words, I have received a letter
stating that I have to pay in full. What is my
recourse? I have no assets and work under
the table as a waitress so I have no way of
showing income.
