Pretend like someone owes you money and you are taking them to court. Would you say 'look your honor so and so owes me 10k and here is my proof- my name and address"? Of course not. Validate can be used to find out if they own the debt or not. To properly validate they must provide enough proof to show it is your account such as a signature or statements. A simple name and address is hogwash.
