Wait - you're saying you've been sued and they've now got a default judgment ? Were you served ? Did you file an Answer to their Complaint ??

How much was the lawsuit for ?

There are exemptions from judgment, so they can't just take anything you have. If its wage garnishment they're after, then you should be given the opportunity to claim exemptions or ask to make payments on the judgment in lieu of garnishment (most states allow this). Depending on your take-home pay, they may not be able to ganrish at all, or if you can show garnishment would be a hardship, you may avoid it that way.
