I think you are confusing a summary judgment with a default judgment. A default judgement can only be entered if the defendant does not respond to the lawsuit. If you filed an answer with the court, then the default will not be granted.

A summary judgment is different- it says to the court - there is no dispute about the facts of this case and no need for a trial- so just grant me the judgment.

The lawyer would have to file a motion for summary judgment and you would be notified and have the opportunity to respond. In that case, you would file an objection to motion for summary judgment . You would also be allowed to make your case in front of the judge.
