I'm fairly new here and pretty unimpressed by some of the reactions on this board to alternative views. I think some of you miss the point of the word "forum".

I would like to use the recent messages from "Dumb Debtor" as an example of my concerns:
"Dumb Debtor", like others, certainly ruffles feathers, and seems to be of the mind that people should pay their debts - no exceptions. Maybe he's never fallen on hard times (and I don't wish it upon him). Some of his statements make me believe that this guy has some knowledge that could benefit us all. And, he's communicating with us in "our" forum which is more than most CAs would bother to do.

Maybe we can use his knowledge to help our own needs. Maybe not. The important thing is that we understand that he has valid beliefs from his experience the same as the rest of us.

I myself have been insulted and shot down on this board several times simply for expressing ideas that are not mainstream (but perfectly valid according to my teachings and experience). Some of my ideas are certainly "outside the box", but so are the themes of many of the postings on this board.

If this guy, "Dumb Debtor" (from Rockland, not offshore as some of you mistakenly state) irritates some of you then deal with it rationally. Maybe it's healthy to have a "Devil's advocate" in this forum.

It's OK if we rub each other the wrong way but baseless insults are disrespectful and indicators of people who cannot logically form an argument - The type of people we all wish would stay the away from these boards.

This guy certainly rubbed me the wrong way in one of his messages - but I didn't come here to make friends. I came here to learn and share my knowledge. Sometimes this process is painful because we are all individuals and we don't always agree.

Remember, it's up to the regular members of this board to show the most respect and control. You set the tone and the tempo that the rest of us follow. Some of your recent responses are more disruptive than the postings you find irritating.

Not knowing any of you, I have to believe that each individual here thinks that he/she contributes a positive influence. Please view my statements likewise.
