I see Oklahoma has greedy lawyers as well.

Here is a likely scenario IF they go to court.
You show up (or send a lawyer) with all your financial documents - showing income and expenses. Letter from the doctor documenting your husbands ongoing medical expenses etc.

You tell the judge what you have been doing- make sure he knows it is a hardship for you to pay that but you are trying to do the right thing.

Most likely outcome, the judge will try to get the other side to agree to a written payment schedule (which may be less than your current payment). He will withhold judgment- unless you default on your payments. That means that the greedy ones can not attach any of your possesions, etc as long as you keep up your end of the deal.

Stand your ground. Send a letter to the lawyer explaining that this is what you can do. You will be in a good position if this goes to court.

Even in lawyer/creditor friendly Florida, the judge will not rule against someone who is making an honest effort to resolve a debt. I even heard one judge admonish a lawyer for bringing a case like that in front of him.

Good luck
