Not only is there total homestead exemption n Tx, but there is NO wage garnishment allowed.

However, the time to close your bank accounts is NOW, reopen a joint account with a trusted family member (who is not in credit trouble of their own) with their name FIRST as primary on the account.

Creditors in Tx can FREEZE an account BEFORE they file for a judgment.

If you pay any of them anything, it is like blood in the water to the sharks. Stop paying on anyone you are behind on, or who has gone to collection.
You say you last paid several months ago, to WHOM??

You need to tell us the last pament to the ORIGINAL CREDITOR on an accunt that was NOT past due or late.
