From what you've posted from the credit report, looks like the last payment was made 8/99, then it was charged-off in Feb/March 2000 (180 days from the last payment date). So, you're right, it WAS last paid in 1999. You're also past the SOL !!

SOL in PA for written contracts is FOUR YEARS per the PA statutes (WhyChat's site is right). That means the time for anyone to legally enforce payment of the debt by suing you RAN OUT the end of August this year !!

Send them WhyChat's SOL letter and tell HH&L to go get stuffed - permanently ! Send it Certified, RRR, of course, and keep copies of everything.

As for discussing his debt with you, it IS legal, FDCPA does not consider spouses to be third parties.
