I had a cc go to collection in 08/00 ( this was the charge off date)in 04/02 I refinanced my house to pay off lines of credit. The bank that did my morgage said I had to pay some outstanding ca accounts. I never sighned anything they just had the money sent to these ca,( from the title company) how they came up with the figure I don't know. anyway now a year later I have this company RMA calling me and harrassing me big time. They originaly called my parents house, they left a message about case#, my mom got all nervous so I called them from a cell phone (that is not in my name now they call that cell all the time and leave messages on the voice mail. The phone is in my fathers name. I never gave them the # the must of got it off caller id. I ran my credit and it shows a charge off date 08/01/00. but it shows the payment from the title company as last payment a year ago. the original balance was @19000 the title company sent them 5000. I don't have an agreement from ca nor did I sign anything with the ca. RMA represented them selves as city bank but after I questioned them they told me they are retained by citi bank, this man left a message on the cell phone voice mail that if I don't pay today to get LAWYER, the man that told me this I told him I felt the debt as satisfied, now some girl from this office is calling me wanting to know my legal intentions. I could use some expertise, I don't know what to do, I have just been avioding their calls.thank you everyone
