It does sound like you need to get a lawyer. Often these collection agencies will list something on your credit report and the title company will pay off the balance that is listed and the contact person. They take the amount that you paid them and then they apply it first to their interests and their costs. Then they inflate the balance again with their interests charges, legal costs, etc and then they come back again a year later.

You will have to dig out your papers that you signed with this company and also with the title company and take them to a lawyer.

A payment made without a written agreement does not reactivate the statute of limitations. You need to look at the statute of limitations for Ohio which is four years from date of last payment that you made. Get your credit report and look at the date of last payment or last activity. That is the start of statute of limitations. I would say that the statute of limitations is up sometime this year.
