My roommate in college ran up a bunch of cc's and they told him that they could send in a repo man to take the $300 fish tank he had bought with it. He ended up putting it in his sister's apt. I'm not sure if they were just BSing, but they did call Gold's Gym where he had bought a membership with one of his cards, and tried to get Gold's to cancel his membership and refund some of the money back to the creditor. I'm not sure if they were successful or not, since he still went to work out every day, even months after all this harrassment. They are especially brutal with college students, they threaten to ruin your credit 'for life' make it impossible for you to get a job, why can't your parents loan you the money, etc. The best thing, really is just to hang up.
