You need to consult your lawyer. If your Ex is still on the mortgage he is still as responsible for the debt as you are regardless of what the divorce decree says. I went through a similar situation. Bankruptcy could help you, but not on the house, he would have to file also, otherwise if the house goes to forclosure the bankruptcy probably wouldt help there. Also please note that you cant pick and choose what you file on, its all or nothing by law.
