What is the Statute of Limitations in your state? If you haven't paid on it in 7 years....you need to start cleaning up your credit report by disputing things on your credit report. A charge off is supposed to be after 150 or 180 days not years! This is federal law! You need to get a copy of your credit report from Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union. Check over each one completely! If there are any mistakes (ANY!) dispute them on the form they will send you on the back of your credit report. IF information has been re-aged then dispute it. It would be a waste (in my opinion) to try and pay now! Most of this you can probably clean up yourself without paying anything except a little time! If you have been denied credit in the past 60 days you can request a FREE copy of your credit report. In the past 6 months, I have worked Equifax and TransUnion Hard! My credit reports are looking good now! The way they should BUT if I had not checked on my credit report or ignored information I would have a lower credit score. GOOD LUCK! Look out for your Credit Report because No one else will! HAPPY 2004!!!!
