debt to prosperity

We have an outragous amount of credit card debt. We have looked into the debt reduction plans but even with a big down payment the payments each month will be high. Has anyone ever done this instead of bankrupty as an option? I have been talking to Debt to Prosperity. Thanks for your advice.
