i live in IN and bounced a 25 check back when i was in college. i kept putting if off and putting it off, next thing i know, i get a summons, new amount $217!!! in IN, they can triple the check amt., add filing fees, add lawyer fees, add interest. check amt. 25 + 25 to business where check was bounced + 75 tripled check amt. + 41 filing fees + 51 lawyer fees/interst = 217 dollars. take care of it as soon as you can. go to whychat's site under your state and look for 'bad check' something. it'll tell you the guesstimate amout you're looking at.
