I live in MD. We have about 60k equity in the house. New house. About 4 yrs old. We have (not including secured debt and student loans) about 16k in unsecured debt.

We saw a lawyer in June and paid him the intial $200 fee and got the paperwork. Tried to hold off and refi and no one will bite on the refi.

If we weren't so behind on our secured debt (as I said, 2 mos on the cars (want to keep) and months behind on mortgage (want to keep house) and paying an extra $350 a month on their plan with us and behind on that plan already.
