They can only bully you if you allow them to bully you. There is a lot of psychology in debt collection. They will lie and threaten. Rarely will they actually sue you unless they have assets on you. Salaried job, bank account info. My suggestion is to save your money for an attorney. These scum bags buy debt for pennies on the dollar, and then add more interest. My strategy was to ignore CAs. It worked well. I was sued, but only one out of 10 sued. I was prepared and filed no asset Chapter 7. If you ignore them, they will most likely move onto easier prey.
