Do these people have a judgement against you? If they do not have a judgement against you, then there is no reason to pay them anything. The bill is long past SOL.
This is a scavenger collection agent. If they don't already have a judgement against you, then they are SOL (s out of luck) There is a lot of psychology used in debt collection. Collection agents are trained to work on your emotions, they lie and threaten. If I remember correctly, you should have checked with your local courthouse to see if they had a judgement against you? If they don't have a judgement against you, then just Ignore them they can't do doodly. They can't harass them if you don't let them. Let the machine pick up, watch caller ID. They will soon move onto easier prey.
